NSW Police are appealing for help to locate an elderly man who they believe was mistakenly kidnapped from his northern Sydney home yesterday.
Just after 5am on Friday, police received reports from the neighbours of Mr Baghsarian, an 85-year-old man, who they saw being kidnapped from his home in North Ryde.
Detective A/Superintendent Andrew Marks said there were signs of forced entry into the house, and reports that Baghsarian was bundled into a dark-coloured Toyota SUV by up to three people.
That vehicle was found burnt out near his home.
“They have the wrong person,” Marks said. “The family is concerned, and they are not involved in any criminal activity and just want the safe return of their father.”
The man’s family are helping police with their inquiries and has appealed for anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
