Former NFL Quarterback Cam Newton Reveals He Recently Welcomed His 9th Baby (Exclusive)

In an exclusive clip from the upcoming Thursday, October 16, episode of the Tamron Hall Show, former NFL quarterback Cam Newton revealed he recently welcomed his ninth baby.

“He’s already here,” the former MVP said while smiling and after he was asked about his growing family, confirming the birth of his latest baby boy.

The child is Newton’s second with girlfriend Jasmin Brown, following the birth of their daughter in March 2024.

The couple’s new arrival comes months after Brown announced she was expecting again in a Mother’s Day Instagram post.

“Feeling ALL the love, kicks and elbows … Cheers to our growing tribe,” she wrote at the time.

Earlier this year, Newton, 36, spoke about wanting to expand his family.

“Did I tell you I want more?” he said to People in an interview published on February 6. “But jokingly, and not jokingly, they really give me my purpose and there’s so many different things that I look at to say, they’re my refuge. They’re my peace. They’re my encouragement.”

He added, “There’s times where, I’m here and they’re still at home. Those type of things affect me but it also gives me more reason to say I’m doing this because of that situation.”

The former NFL quarterback also revealed in an April 2024 Club Shay Shay interview that he doesn’t believe in the concept of “stepchildren,” but is instead raising all of his kids equally regardless of their biological ties.

“I proudly say I have eight children. Six biologically through me. And I don’t believe in stepchildren,” he said. “What my biological kids get, everybody gets. I don’t have no favorites. I’m raising kings and queens.”

Newton shares four children with ex-girlfriend Kia Proctor — sons Chosen, 10, Camidas, 7, Cashmere, 6, and Kaden along with daughter Sovereign-Dior, 8. He also helped raise Proctor’s eldest daughter, Shakira, 18, whom he previously called his “first child” in a 2017 Instagram post.

Newton also shares a son, Caesar, 6, with LaReina Shaw, who has an older son, Jaden, 19, from a previous relationship.

Outside his family life, Newton has been candid about the challenges of transitioning away from professional football.

On FOX’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which premiered in January 2025, he reflected on his post-retirement life.

“Being in the NFL, everyone knows there’s a large sum of money that comes to you in a short span of time, and being away from the game for three years, those checks don’t come in the same,” he said. “Like, I got eight kids.”

Newton added, “It hurts me knowing that I can’t provide like I once did. It hurts thinking that I’m Superman, but in reality, I’m just a man.”

In a confessional on the show, Newton mentioned he feels like he’s still “making mistakes.”

“Family, they give me purpose, but I made my mistakes,” he said. “I’m still dealing with that resentment. So if I can heal that, then that’s the start. My daughter, we have our disconnects, but I just want my children to know that their dad cares, like I care.”

The 2015 NFL MVP and three-time Pro Bowler, Newton was drafted first overall by the Carolina Panthers in 2011 and led the team to Super Bowl 50. After his final NFL season in 2021, Newton has focused on his family, podcasting, and business ventures.
