Liam Neeson seemingly has the approval of his late wife Natasha Richardson’s sister Joely Richardson as he embarks on a new romance with Pamela Anderson.

On Friday, August 1, Joely, 60, posted seven ‘love heart’ emojis on a carousel of photos from Pamela’s Instagram, showing the former Baywatch actress posing with Liam. Several fans responded to compliment the graciousness of Joely publicly backing her former brother-in-law’s new relationship.

“Very sweet of you,” one comment read, with another person adding: “Classy and loving as always.”

Liam married Joely’s sister Natasha in 1994, after they worked together on the revival of Anna Christie on Broadway. (The Taken actor was in long-term relationships with Helen Mirren and Barbra Streisand prior to tying the knot with Natasha. Liam and Natasha shared two sons: Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28.)

Natasha passed away at the age of 45 after being gravely injured in a March 2009 skiing accident in Canada. Liam later told 60 Minutes that he was overcome with grief following the tragic loss of his spouse.

“Grief’s like — it hits you. It’s like a wave,” Liam recalled. “You just get this profound feeling of instability. You feel like a three-legged table. Just suddenly … the Earth isn’t stable anymore. And then it passes and becomes more infrequent, but I still get it sometimes.”

As recently as last October, Liam seemingly ruled out the possibility of finding love again after his wife’s death. Asked by People whether he was open to dating, Liam insisted: “No, in a word. I’m past all that.”

However, a source revealed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, July 29, that Liam, 73, and Pam, 58, “are dating” after meeting on the set of their new movie The Naked Gun. The insider disclosed that Liam and Pamela “always had chemistry while they were filming and their friendship naturally developed into more.”

Us subsequently reported that Liam expressed his feelings to Pamela first, as a source indicated that the Northern Irish actor was “intrigued and smitten” by her since they first started working together.

“Pam and Liam are a good match because they have similar personalities and understand each other,” the insider said.

Liam first hinted that he had chemistry with Pamela on and off screen in October 2024 when he was speaking to People about shooting The Naked Gun.

“With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” Liam said at the time. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”

The Academy Award nominee later shared that Pamela charmed him on the set of The Naked Gun by baking him sourdough bread and bran muffins.

“That sourdough bread was something else,” he told People in July 2025. “And I know the effort it takes. I’m so not a cook, nor a baker. I’m not. But I did appreciate the gesture very, very much.”

The new couple certainly have the support of the Hollywood community, as Liam’s family friend Andy Cohen, Chelsea Handler, Vanessa Hudgens and even rock icon Patti Smith have all celebrated the new relationship.
