West Wilson made an eyebrow-raising comment about Amanda Batula and Ciara Miller’s friendship weeks before news of their love triangle broke.
During the February 17 episode of his “Show Me Something” podcast, West broke down the dynamic between Amanda and estranged husband Kyle Cooke that fans are seeing as Summer House season 10 continues to air.
“I think you can definitely feel [the tension]. Because, I don’t know, they just operate so differently,” he said. “I think it’ll play out, like, throughout the season, but I made sure I had Amanda’s back throughout the summer.”
He added, “Ciara is always going to have Amanda’s back, but I think sometimes it’s good to, like, man to man, make sure you protect the ladies.”
Amanda and Kyle announced in January that they had decided to separate after four years of marriage. West initially said during the February podcast episode that he “sometimes” wished Amanda would “take it easy” on Kyle but said it was “sad” watching their relationship break down last summer.
Viewers have been watching Ciara stick up for Amanda as she and Kyle fight on the show, but they also got a chance to see the ins and outs of Amanda and West’s friendship — especially during the March 24 episode.
After a fight between Amanda and Kyle, in which he called his wife “a “f***ing dumbass bitch,” West made sure that she was OK. One moment caught the eye of viewers, who wondered what Amanda and West’s body language meant. The clip, circulating on TikTok, showed Amanda pushing West away as he grabbed her hand. However, she rubbed her arm against his back as they walked by.
When the episode was filmed last summer, Amanda and Kyle were still together. However, by the time it aired, romance rumors between Amanda and West had already started swirling.
Instagram account DeuxMoi first reported that Amanda and West were more than friends on March 5, which the duo denied. Weeks later, however, Page Six reported that Amanda and Ciara — who dated West in 2023 — were feuding.
Several Bravo stars shared cryptic messages on social media, appearing to confirm that something was going down between Amanda and West. On Tuesday, March 31, Amanda and West released a statement confirming that their friendship had turned romantic.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” they shared via Instagram Stories. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They added, “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Amanda and West said their “feelings evolved” into something more than friendship.
“We wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” the statement concluded. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
