It’s five o’clock at Chipotle.

The American fast-casual chain best known for its overflowing burritos and burrito bowls is bringing back an old fan favorite in celebration of spooky season — its famous margaritas.

The beloved drink, which was a menu staple until the chain quietly discontinued it back in 2020, will be available once again for a limited time as part of the “Summon the Spirits” tour — a five-city pop-up event every weekend throughout October leading up to “Boorito,” Chipotle’s longstanding Halloween-day promotion.

Meaning that dedicated fans who don’t live in one of the tour stop locales will have to travel to enjoy the long-awaited treat.

The $6 marg includes just five ingredients — premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar and a lime wedge. The drink will kick off its tour in Denver, Colorado — the city where Chipotle was founded in 1993 by Culinary Institute of America grad Steve Ells — on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m local time.

There, it will be available for nostalgic customers (age 21 and over, of course) in a full-blown pop-up experience, complete with dedicated bars, spooky decorations and even a few opportunities to score Chipotle-themed prizes.

The five-city drink-centric tour will continue every weekend through Halloween month, making themed stops at the 185 Montague St. location in Brooklyn on October 9 and 10; Dallas, Texas on October 16 and 17, LA on October 23 and 24; and New Orleans on October 30 and 31, all from 3-9 p.m. local time.

Longtime Chipotle fans thirsty for the old favorite have taken to social media to express their joy at the beverage coming back for a limited run.

“Did y’all hear about that new margarita special that they’re bringing back at Chipotle?!” said one incredulous fan in a recent TikTok, nodding in approval.

“Mood because Chipotle just announced [it’s] back serving margaritas again,” one joyful Chipotle lover wrote posted in a TikTok of him dancing to celebrate the news.

Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing echoed the sentiment, saying that “fans never stopped talking about our margaritas after they left the menu.”

“Halloween felt like the perfect time to revive a Chipotle classic,” Perdue shared. “For five weekends, we’re giving fans the chance to rediscover the iconic Chipotle Margarita, made with just five real ingredients and the same simplicity we bring to our food.”
