Comedic great Dave Chappelle had some fun at Kanye West’s expense when he brought him in as a surprise guest at his comedy show in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Chappelle finished his set at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood — where phones were banned — and then invited West onto the stage, making a joke about Ye before he came up, TMZ reported.

“Kanye West has lost more money than I’ve ever made,” Chappelle reportedly told the crowd.

While the 24-time Grammy winner did not entertain the room, sources told the outlet that Ye’s appearance was welcomed by those in the audience who reportedly cheered and applauded him as he walked on to the stage.

West reportedly even shook hands with fans as he went to meet Chappelle, where the crowd gave him a standing ovation, sources told the outlet.

The show was full of big hitters in the comedy world. Besides the “Chappelle’s Show” star, comedians like Shane Gillis, Chris Rock and Louis C.K., reportedly joined Dave on Sunday.

It is not the first time West has popped up at a comedy show as a surprise guest. Back in December, the rapper took the stage at Bianca Censori’s show at the Hollywood Improv, per the report.

During the show, Deon Cole brought West on stage where he once again got a lot of love from the audience. At that appearance, Ye also did not perform.

Chappelle’s appearance in LA comes ahead of the Netflix is a Joke Comedy Festival 2026 where he’s scheduled to entertain audiences at the Hollywood Palladium May 7, 8, and 9th.
