A groom spent $24,000 to zipline into his wedding ceremony in full James Bond style.
Maciej Mazurek, 30, married Ola Novak, 31, in Perugia, Italy on July 2, but not before he entered the ceremony with a daring stunt.
Maciej, a big James Bond fan, decided to zipline into the ceremony from the top floor window while the Skyfall theme played, landing at the altar.
There were three different rope specialists at the wedding to help set it up and Maciej was up practicing at 5am.
It cost $24,000, but Maciej says it was totally worth it to see his family and friends’ reactions.
Maciej, an entrepreneur from Warsaw, Poland, said: “It was a very special moment for me.”
“I was so happy it all went well and I could arrive in style.”
“Nobody knew it was happening, but my friends and family know I’ll always go all out, so they weren’t even that surprised.”
Maciej and Ola met through Instagram in 2023 and got engaged in Rome, Italy in a restaurant overlooking the city in December, 2024.
They have been planning their lavish wedding in Perugia for the past 18 months and the groom’s entrance is actually a more toned down version of the original idea.
Maciej said: “At first, I wanted to helicopter in and descend into the ceremony hanging on a rope from the chopper.”
“I actually did three days of training for it, but quickly realized it was going to cost way too much – like $300,000.”
“So we went with this version instead.”
The zipline was a surprise to everyone at the wedding outside of the bride, so their guests were mesmerised when Maciej suddenly appeared in the air.
Maciej said: “It was one of my favorite parts of the day – waiting there before jumping.”
“I could see a beautiful vista of Italian countryside and all our friends and family smiling below.”
“Then, when I leapt into the zipline, it was the greatest moment!”
