Horrific four-car crash kills one, leaves multiple injured in Los Angeles

One person was killed and several others were injured in a violent four-car crash near the Tarzana-Encino border Sunday evening, authorities said.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the collision in the 6400 block of Lindley Avenue at approximately 6:02 p.m.

Emergency crews found four vehicles involved in the wreck. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, LAFD confirmed to The California Post.

A woman believed to be in her 30s was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. Her condition has not been released.

Officials said multiple people were hurt in the crash, though the total number of injured victims and the extent of their injuries remain unclear.

The collision also knocked down a utility pole, sending telephone lines crashing into the roadway and creating an additional hazard for first responders and motorists.

Images from the scene showed the fallen pole resting across the hood of a black sedan damaged in the crash.

Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died, and the circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.

The crash also brought down a utility pole, leaving power and telephone lines strewn across the roadway. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was notified to respond and secure the damaged lines as emergency crews worked at the scene.
