A man has been snatched outside a Sydney home in a late-night abduction before police arrested five men almost 20 kilometres away one hour later.
Nine News have identified the victim as Emilio Chalhoub, who is believed to be a bodyguard of Sydney rapper Ali Younes, aka Ay Huncho, an alleged member of the Alameddine crime network.
The victim, who is aged in his 30s, was allegedly assaulted and forced into a vehicle outside a Guildford home at 11.30pm on Monday.
Police located a partially burnt car on Belmore Street, Villawood, about five kilometres from the scene of the kidnapping.
The victim was found at Casula about 12.30am on Tuesday, suffering facial injuries. He has been taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Five men who police believe were involved in the assault and kidnapping were arrested near Kane Place, Casula – a small cul-de-sac by the Hume Highway.
The group has been taken to Liverpool Police Station.
Police allege Chalhoub was the target of a botched hit at his Guildford home in June, in which a 15- and a 22-year-old turned on the man’s father, stabbing him several times in a case of mistaken identity.
It came amid a renewal of gangland conflicts across Sydney, and one month after NSW Police established Taskforce Falcon to crack down on growing organised crime.
