Emergency services were called to an address on Albatross Street in Victoria Point about 1.30am following reports of a disturbance involving a group of armed people.
According to police, the resident of the home, a 46-year-old man, had confronted the group during an attempted break-in, and he was stabbed several times in the process.
The group fled.
The man was rushed to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, with paramedics treating several of his wounds during transit.
He remained in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
