It’s been a chilly morning in Perth today, with the mercury dipping to just 0.6 degrees in Pearce.
In the CBD, the temperature dropped to 4.5 degrees overnight, while it dipped to 1.2 at Perth Airport this morning, and 1.8 degrees in Jandakot. It was even colder in the Swan Valley where a low of 1.1 degrees was recorded this morning at around 7am.
The temperatures are about four degrees colder than what is normal for this time of year, with a very cold pool of air behind a cold front responsible for what will be a week of colder mornings and low maximum temperatures in the teens.
The front is causing the temperatures to feel even colder than what is being recorded, with the ‘feels like’ temperature in Pearce this morning reaching -1.7 degrees. Perth felt like 2.4 degrees, and the Swan Valley felt like -0.6 degrees.
The Bureau is predicting the colder mornings will stick around for the rest of the week, with minimums of 5 degrees predicted until Friday.
