The search for a man missing in Daintree bushland has entered its third day.

Ariel Simon, 31, was last seen entering bushland near Cape Tribulation Road in Cow Bay, north of Port Douglas, about 1.30pm on September 7.

When he had not returned by 3pm, police were alerted and a search was launched.

The search involves police, SES members, the Rescue 510 helicopter and POLAIR.

Simon is about 210 centimetres tall, with a slim build and long, blond hair.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

Simon, or anyone with relevant information about his whereabouts, is urged to contact police.
