A three-year-old girl has died after being struck by a ute in Caboolture overnight on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to an incident on Toohey Street on Tuesday evening following reports a Nissan Navara utility had struck a child.

The toddler suffered critical injuries and could not be saved. She died at the scene.

The ute’s driver, a 49-year-old woman, remained on the scene and assisted police and the Forensic Crash Unit with investigations.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said three patients in “emotional distress” – two women, aged in their 20s and 40s, along with a male toddler – were transported to Caboolture Hospital in stable condition.

Police said the driver was turning right from Lynfield Drive onto Toohey Road when the child was hit.

Anyone with further information was urged to contact police.
