Lamar Odom is revealing the surprising way his ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, found out that he had been unfaithful.
“My first stint in rehab was because she took me to the rehab,” Odom, 46, said during a recent appearance on the “Nothing’s Off the Table” podcast, referring to Kardashian, 42. “My f***ing dumb ass, [I was] hanging out with this girl. … This is how you know the addict brain works f***ing bananas. I’m married to [Khloé] and whatever. I’m know this girl and girl’s like, ‘Let’s go up to Big Bear.’”
While Odom knew he was a married man at the time — as did “the whole f***ing world” — he still joined the other woman in Big Bear, California.
“It had to be [on] a summertime on a weekday, and I go to Big Bear. Wife can’t find me looking for me, obviously,” he said. “I think I’m getting so high on the way up there, just sniffing and snorting. I don’t know the f*** if I was smoking … but the girl must have been scared to death [when] I must have dozed off.”
The woman subsequently dialed Kardashian via Odom’s phone to tell the Kardashians star “where [they were] going to be at.”
“First, she lets my wife know, obviously, what I’m doing,” Odom recalled. “[We] get back to the girl’s house, put some coke on the table, sniffing the line, and I just see a head come around the corner, and the lady says, ‘Lamby,’ and it was their mother, Kris [Jenner]. I remember I was f***ed up.”
According to Odom, there were approximately “six SUVs” waiting outside the residence to take the NBA alum to a treatment facility.
“I had to go, and that was just my first stint in rehab,” he recalled. “My first night and rehab … my heart and soul reached out to every one of [my friends who were incarcerated]. I think that’s how I gained some strength and some courage.”
Odom experimented with drugs amid his whirlwind marriage to Kardashian from 2009 to 2016. He suffered an overdose at a legal brothel in Las Vegas 2015, where he was left comatose. Kardashian subsequently withdrew her divorce petition to serve as Odom’s caregiver. Upon his recovery, Kardashian filed for divorce again, settling in December 2016.
Odom is now sober after completing another rehab stint following his January DUI arrest.
“[I] met my sponsor, who’s a stone-cold G, like, 23 years sober,” he said on the “Nothing’s Off the Table” episode. “[I] went to NA or AA meetings with him for the first 30 days, so we became really close and that was another humbling experience for me. … I don’t [ever] really want to stop working on myself, and I think that’s the most important thing that I can do for me and my family.”
