Etihad Rail has officially launched its route between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, marking the first time the two emirates have been connected by passenger train.

Travellers can now go between the UAE capital and the major tourist hub in just over an hour.

Tickets are priced at AED39 (€9.35) in comfort class, with premium seats coming in at AED109 (€26.13).

Etihad Rail first launched in late June, with trains going from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, an emirate on the country’s east coast.
