Alyssa Farah Griffin Gives Birth to 1st Baby With Husband Justin After Skipping ‘The View’

UPDATE — 2/11/26, 12 p.m. ET: Alyssa Farah Griffin is officially a mom after giving birth to her first baby with husband Justin Griffin.

“The first thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband, Justin, on the birth of their baby boy,” Whoopi Goldberg said on the Wednesday, February 11, episode of The View, revealing the newborn is 7 pounds and 19.5 inches.

Original story below:

Alyssa Farah Griffin was noticeably absent from The View on Tuesday, February 10, and her cohosts were thrilled by the reason.

Griffin, who is pregnant with her first baby, went into labor ahead of Tuesday’s broadcast, Whoopi Goldberg confirmed during the show’s “Hot Topics” segment.

“She’s at the hospital right now!” Goldberg, 70, shared with the audience, which started to cheer alongside fellow The View panelists Sara Haines, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin. “And we are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby boy to arrive.”

Goldberg encouraged the applause, telling viewers, “Yeah, it’s kind of fabulous! Welcome that baby!”

Griffin, who joined The View during season 25 in 2021, announced her pregnancy in October 2025. The journalist, 36, confirmed during an episode of the ABC daytime talk show that she and husband Justin Griffin went through “five rounds” of IVF (in vitro fertilization) before she got pregnant, taking “about a year.”

“Baby boy Griffin arrives this February,” Alyssa gushed during the show, revealing her growing baby bump for the audience. “I’m so glad to not have to hide it anymore. I can breathe.”

The former White House Communications Director added that she was “so grateful to have the most supportive husband in the world,” as they waited to meet their baby.

“I’m great. I’m hanging in there. I couldn’t be happier,” Justin, who married Alyssa in 2021, said after being spotted in the audience. “This is a big moment for our family and growing family, I should say.”

In the months that followed, Alyssa has kept fans up to date with her pregnancy, including why she was absent from a December 2025 broadcast.

“Hey guys! I’ve been down sick with a stomach virus but will hopefully be back on @theviewabs tomorrow,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories on December 3. “It’s no fun being sick while 6 [and a half] months pregnant!”

The TV personality then reminded her followers to stay vigilant about their health amid flu season. “Remember it’s that time of the year — be smart, use hand sanitizer, [and] stay home if you’re sick,” Alyssa added.

As the countdown to the baby grew closer, Alyssa received an outpouring of love and support from her cohosts in the way of a baby shower on air.

During the February 3 episode of The View, viewers watched as Alyssa was honored by her counterparts with gifts and advice about motherhood.

“I’m so grateful,” Alyssa said while holding back tears. “They say it takes a village and just knowing I have such a wonderful village at this table, this amazing husband and my family and friends. That meant so much to me.”

Goldberg then raised a glass and delivered a toast to the mama-to-be, saying, “Here’s to health, happiness and lots of love. A little bit of sleep and a lot of laughs.”

One day later, The View’s executive producer Brian Teta confirmed to Deadline that Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Abby Huntsman would return to the show with an opportunity to serve as cohosts amid Alyssa’s maternity leave, which she planned to begin after the Friday, February 13, taping ahead of her February 19 due date.

Savannah Chrisley is the first guest cohost, beginning on Tuesday, February 17, after the long President’s Day weekend.

Fans will also see guest cohosts Protect Democracy editor Amanda Carpenter, The Talk alum Sheryl Underwood and comedian Whitney Cummings throughout Alyssa’s hiatus.
