A migrant robbery crew – three of them wanted on ICE detainers – were busted after a stick-up in NYC Wednesday night but then released by a judge, cops and police sources said Saturday.
The crew held-up a couple around 11:30 p.m. on West 47th Street between Ninth Avenue and Tenth Avenue, police said.
A 57-year-old victim told police that five men – three of them armed with guns – approached him and a 47-year-old woman and demanded their belongings, cops said.
One of the thieves pointed a gun at the man and another took a cell phone from his pocket. The robbers also demanded the woman’s property but took nothing from her before fleeing.
Police responded and took four of the men into custody. Two imitation firearms and one real gun were recovered nearby, cops said.
Wilson Eduardo, 18; Emerson Valenzuela, 20; Christopher Serrano, 18, and Edwin Ramos, 18, were arrested and charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and menacing, police said.
They all pleaded not guilty and were released on non-monetary conditions, online court records show.
Three of the men were wanted on ICE detainers, police sources said. It wasn’t clear which of them were wanted by ICE, the sources said.
Police are investigating to determine if the crew has pulled off any other robberies.
