At least four people were shot in separate incidents across the Big Apple late Monday – including one man killed and a woman struck by an errant slug – hours after three others took bullets near the West Indian Day Parade route, cops and sources said.
A 65-year-old woman believed to be an innocent bystander was blasted in the leg around 11 p.m. on University Avenue near Merriam Avenue in the Highbridge neighborhood, cops and sources said.
Two other people were struck in that shooting – including a 43-year-old man who took a bullet to the head and a 52-year-old woman grazed in the leg, police said.
It was not immediately clear whether they were targeted.
All three victims were hospitalized, with the man listed in critical condition and the two women considered stable, authorities said.
The shooting may have stemmed from a drug-related beef, law enforcement sources said.
Earlier in the evening, a 32-year-old man was fatally shot in the head by a masked gunman in Brooklyn, cops and sources said.
A group of people had gathered on Bristol Street near Livonia Avenue – steps from Betsy Head Park in Brownsville – around 8:30 p.m. when the mask-wearing suspect suddenly opened fire, law enforcement sources said.
Cleo Daniels was struck in the head and taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The suspected shooter, also seen wearing a black hoodie, fled into the park and had not been caught by Tuesday.
The motive was unclear, and it was not immediately known whether Daniels was targeted.
Daniels was released on parole from state prison in March of 2023 after serving more than four years on an attempted murder conviction, state correction records show.
Hours earlier, near the city’s West Indian Day parade route, a 24-year-old man was shot in the buttocks around 4 p.m. on Nostrand Avenue near St. Johns Place in Crown Heights, police said.
The now-arrested suspect in that shooting, Nayshawn Wilkinson, 19, was out on bail at the time — because a soft-on-crime judge ignored prosecutors’ pleas to lock him up for allegedly firing the bullet that wounded a 15-year-old boy in the foot in July.
Another man and a 37-year-old woman — dressed in an orange-and-gold feathered outfit — were then shot at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue along the route just a little after 4 p.m, the sources said.
All three were listed in stable condition.
