‘Baby canceled’ post incites controversial debate about ‘s- -t’ fathers: ‘Wish more women were like this’

Calling off a baby shower on Instagram can happen. Calling off the baby itself with a grid post? Oh no.

But that’s exactly what happened when a woman who calls herself Moraa posted a baby termination announcement created with AI that has ignited a firestorm of debate — even though the post itself has been easily debunked.

The eye-popping post read “Baby Cancelled” under a graphic of a birth (or no-birth?) announcement. “Due date was April 14, 2027. Mommy changed her mind. Daddy wasn’t s- -t.”

The unapologetic advisory — made complete with itty-bitty infant shoes, alphabet blocks spelling “B-A-B-Y” and a fake-looking ultrasound snapshot — has amassed over 121,000 likes, largely from fans applauding the would-be mommy for sparing herself and her fetus from a lifetime of strife.

“It ain’t never been smart to bring kids into a world of chaos. Good for you lol,” praised a supporter.

“Wish more women were like this. It’s called intelligence,” another cheered.

“Let’s actually normalize this,” begged an advocate.

Online protestors, however, slammed the woman’s controversial communiqué, deeming the content “Sick AF” and “disturbingly vile.”

“A baby isn’t a dinner reservation you cancel because you changed your mind. If you KNOW you don’t want a child, condoms and birth control exist,” argued one concerned netizen. “Turning an ultrasound and a due date into a cute little cancelled photoshoot for Instagram is disturbing as hell.”

Disturbing — and fake.

After the Insta-mama’s hot-button bulletin became an internet talking point with over 8,400 comments, she claimed it was a “joke” and admitted, “I get paid to troll.” (She also threatened, “Mark my words, Im’ma be on TV one day,” hinting at her attention-grabbing ambitions.)

But even though the post was fabricated, the outcry it sparked was very real, with debates over reproductive rights causing vicious rifts among friends and family members both on- and offline.

From the Texas surrogate refusing to abort her clients’ fetus to the new Massachusetts law that expands termination rights throughout a woman’s entire pregnancy — and even the debate over a garden featuring plants historically used as birth control at SUNY Purchase — there’s no shortage of online fury over female bodies.

And the fake Insta post comes mere weeks after YouTuber Jesse Ridgway and his wife shared their choice to terminate a previous pregnancy instead of parent a child with Down Syndrome, which led to disillusionment among the streamer’s former fans.

The Instagram outrage also highlights a continued problem of fake posts, which can serve as gravy trains for online trolls.

As one unmasked rage-baiter told The Post last week, an Instagram story that provokes outrage can pull in over $17,000 in just one month, even when it’s totally made up.

No word on how much “Moraa” will make from her baby-less fiction. But it’s safe to say, she won’t be spending her questionably earned cash on a bassinet.
