A Phillip Island penguin has died from bird flu as the toll of the highly contagious virus mounts rapidly across Victoria.

Victoria’s Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Graeme Cooke and Chief Biodiversity Officer James Todd on Saturday afternoon confirmed the bird’s death.
