Dannon yogurt sparks outrage after discontinuing beloved flavor: ‘Had to buy a couple of cases at a time’

Nostalgia tastes like disappointment. 

Dannon’s “much-loved” coffee-flavored yogurt was abruptly discontinued back in April and destroyed customers in the process once shelves were no longer stocked with their morning go-to.

The dairy dilemma has recently gained traction as disappointed fans started a petition called “Urge Dannon to bring back coffee yogurt.”

With nearly 990 signatures, the plea described the treat, which had 32 milligrams of caffeine, as a “delightful blend of rich coffee flavor and creamy yogurt,” and perfect for those looking to satisfy their craving without the guilt. 

Unhappy customers expressed their frustration as “the decision seems to have been made without considering the loyal customer base that has supported this product over the years,” the post read. Folks were blindsided by the move as shoppers felt like the options for coffee-flavored yogurt were slim.

The Post reached out to Dannon’s parent company, Danone, for comment but has yet to hear back.

Supporters urged each other to sign the petition or call Dannon’s Customer Support at 877-326-6668, which is open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. EST.

Desperate fans took to X to express their frustrations.

“My family member has tried mixing instant coffee with their vanilla yogurt but it’s not the same at all, extremely disappointing to have a part of my daily routine ripped from me!” one wrote.

“I am thinking about lobbying each of the other yogurt makers to make a coffee flavor. It seems like there is a guaranteed market,” another shared.

Others commented on the petition.

“It’s been a staple for us, and [especially] my Mom who can only eat soft foods now. Coffee yogurt was her go-to every morning, and no other brands make a coffee yogurt like Dannon. Please bring it back, Dannon. It is sorely missed,” one begged.

A third cried, “I, too, am a daily DCY consumer addict of over 40 years. It’s the only flavor I can eat. Over the past few years due to dwindling supplies in stores, have had to buy a couple of cases at a time, including calling or traveling to local and distant grocers, placing standing special orders in stores, until they could no longer fulfill them.”
