Some EU leaders and business representatives are in Dubai today for one of the world’s biggest global gatherings. Euronews’ EU news editor Maria Tadeo is also in Dubai for the occasion and catches yo with Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary General.
Meanwhile, former ECB chief Mario Draghi has fired a warning shot to EU leaders. Speaking at a ceremony at the University of Leuven yesterday, the former Italian prime minister said EU countries should not be afraid of integrating at different speeds, if that’s what it takes to gain leverage on the world stage.
And in France, after months of political deadlock, Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu had to use a constitutional provision to force through this year’s budget and managed to survive two no-confidence votes to do so.
