A former Missouri television news anchor has admitted to fatally stabbing her mother on Halloween last year after apparently believing she was the devil, authorities said last week.

Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 48, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder in connection with the slaying of her mother, 80-year-old Anita Avers, on Oct. 31, 2025, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Under the terms of the plea, Mock faces life in prison with eligibility for parole after 25 years.
