She can finally have some pride in her job!
Former President Joe Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has landed a new gig out of the White House as a grand marshal of NYC Pride parade.
Jean-Pierre, who became the first openly gay spokesperson to hold press briefings for a US president, will be among those to head the Big Apple’s famed annual parade in June, CBS reported.
“It goes back to that trail-blazing career that she’s had in politics and representing the community at the highest microphone that exists,” NYC Pride spokesperson Chris Piedmont said of Jean-Pierre.
Jean-Pierre, 50 — who was also the first black woman to serve as press secretary — drew widespread criticism over her performance as the chief White House spokesperson in the Biden administration.
She took over the role from Jen Psaki in early 2022 and served until Biden was booted from the White House in January.
She admitted in an interview with People last month that she didn’t miss being in the political spotlight.
“It was an honor and a privilege to have the job and to have done it for two and a half years, but I don’t miss it,” she said.
Jean-Pierre said her months since leaving the White House had involved “self-care, sleep, hanging out with my family, hanging out with my friends.”
She has yet to announce her next career move.
