Republican Bruce Blakeman accused Democratic incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul Monday of refusing to debate him in the New York gubernatorial race.

Blakeman, the Nassau County executive and GOP gubernatorial nominee, said he’d been invited to debate by PIX11 and CBS, but that Hochul has repeatedly declined to participate so far.

“Kathy Hochul seems to believe that if she avoids enough debates, New Yorkers will forget she’s the worst governor in America,” Blakeman said in a statement.
