Jordan Jullian had her heart set on attending the final regular season Calgary Flames’ game at the Saddledome.

Despite setting an alarm and waiting in a queue for 30 minutes before single-game tickets went on sale Monday, Jullian was out of luck.

“I was one minute in (and) all the tickets were sold,” she told Global News.

“I was actually in shock. I refreshed it a few times. I’m like, no way, this is like the Era’s Tour all over again.”

The upcoming 2026-2027 NHL season will be the Flames’ last at the Saddledome, which was built in 1983. The Flames will call the brand-new Scotia Place home the following season.

The $1.2 billion facility, located on the corner of 12 Avenue and Olympic Way S.E., is expected to seat 18,400 people for hockey games and up to 20,000 for concerts. It also includes a 1,000-seat community arena, indoor and outdoor plaza and a 450-stall parkade.

Steve Edgar, director of game operations and strategy for the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation, said demand for the regular-season finale was always going to be high.

“It’s not just about one game. We’ve got so many great opportunities here for fans to come in (and) share their stories with us,” he said.

Resale tickets are already popping up on third-party websites. Prices range from $500 to nearly $1,500, and one expert warns scammers could be preying on buyers seeking high-demand tickets.

“It’s creating that emotion, that urgency and that demand,” said Julie Matthews, a consumer protection expert.

“It makes people maybe do a little bit less research than maybe they normally would.”

Unless the Flames make the NHL playoffs, its final game at the Saddledome — and its last game of the regular season — will be played on April 10 against the Vancouver Canucks.
