Long Island Medium star Theresa Caputo went into full “mamma bear” mode while defending her daughter, Victoria Caputo, against cruel body-shamers online.
Theresa, 58, shared a reminder to be “nicer” to people in an Instagram video shared on Friday, February 27, after seeing upsetting remarks about Victoria.
“I just don’t understand why people felt it necessary to comment that ‘Oh, what happened to your daughter. She’s huge. That still can’t be baby fat.’ Why do we feel the need to bring people down?” the reality star asked.
“My daughter is very open about how she struggles with mental illness and I just find it so disheartening that if you don’t have anything nice to say,” Theresa continued, giving a word of advice to critics. “Don’t say anything. Unfollow me. Don’t comment.”
Theresa shares daughter Victoria, 31, and son Lawrence “Larry” Caputo Jr. with her ex-husband, Larry Caputo, whom she divorced in 2018 after nearly three decades of marriage.
“Maybe when you’re looking and scrolling on Instagram, which we probably shouldn’t be doing anyway, if you don’t like something … just keep scrolling,” she suggested in her February 27 video. “Don’t post anything negative.”
Theresa pointed out that “kindness goes a long way.”
The famous psychic concluded her post by telling Victoria how much she loves her, sweetly assuring her daughter that she looks “gorgeous.”
Victoria, who is a proud mom of two herself, commented, “Thanks mom. Love you 🫶🏼🫶🏼.” (Victoria shares daughters Michelina Rose, 4, and Meadow Skye, 1, with husband Michael Mastrandrea.)
Victoria announced she was expecting baby No. 2 in August 2024, just one week after Theresa revealed that her son, Larry, was expecting his first child with his wife, Leah Munch.
Theresa’s daughter shared the news about her growing brood by having her daughter Michelina do a photo shoot in heart-shaped sunglasses while eating a vanilla ice cream cone inside a playhouse. “I’ve got the scoop. Baby #2 is due March 2025,” the statement read.
Theresa was overjoyed to become a grandma yet again and has made it crystal clear she won’t be tolerating any hate towards her family.
She later posted a video on Tuesday, March 3, expressing gratitude to all of the supportive fans who sent “positive and beautiful comments” after she spoke out about the body-shaming Victoria was being subjected to.
She revealed that her message “really hit home” for people she connected with, noting that many wanted to surround Victoria with love and to “just tell her how beautiful she is.”
