A man has been charged with murder after another man’s body was found in a Logan car park.
The 39-year-old died at a car park on Chambers Flat Road at Waterford West about 6.30pm on Monday.
Police alleged he was driven there from a home in nearby Logan Reserve, where he had suffered a single stab wound to the chest.
After the man’s death, a person of interest was identified, Chief Superintendent Peter Miles said, and found in a car at 2.15am.
By Tuesday afternoon, three vehicles and two homes had been declared crime scenes.
The third vehicle belonged to the 39-year-old, and was left at the Logan Reserve home.
Police believed the victim visited the home with at least two other people to help someone move, and was then driven away in the other car while injured.
Neighbours reported a disturbance at the home before the man left, Miles said.
A 33-year-old man has now been charged with the 39-year-old’s murder.
“We don’t believe it was a random attack. We believe that they are known to each other, that there is no further risk to any members of the community,” Miles said.
The man was “not overly” cooperating with police, he said. A weapon had not yet been found, though a box cutter in a neighbouring letterbox was examined and ruled out.
Anyone with relevant information about the incident was urged to contact police.
