Megyn Kelly Tells President Donald Trump to ‘Shut Up’ After Latest Iran Comments: ‘Sick of This S***’

Megyn Kelly has revealed her disgust over President Donald Trump’s threat that “a whole civilization [would] die” in Iran prior to a ceasefire being reached.

“I don’t know about you but I am sick of this s***. I’m just sick of it,” Kelly, 55, admitted on The Megyn Kelly Show on Wednesday, April 8. “Can’t [Trump] just behave like normal human?”

The current diplomatic dispute between the U.S. and Iran erupted over the Trump administration’s demand that the Iranian regime open the Strait of Hormuz for safe maritime passage even as war between the two countries raged on.

On Easter Sunday, April 5, Trump, 79, unleashed a profanity-laced threat via Truth Social where he promised catastrophic consequences unless Iran acquiesced to his demand.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” Trump wrote.

Later, Trump told Fox News there was a good chance of a deal being reached but he was still considering “blowing everything up and taking over the oil.” As the deadline neared on Tuesday, April 7, Trump once again warned of untold destruction unless the Strait of Hormuz was immediately reopened.

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that ‌to happen, but it probably will,” Trump threatened via Truth Social.

On her Sirius XM show, Kelly observed that Trump’s statements “didn’t go over well” internationally or with many Americans. (While some prominent conservatives backed Trump, others — such as Candace Owens and Chris Christie — outright condemned his threats to Iran.)

“Just shut up. F***in’ shut up about that s***,” Kelly demanded. “You don’t threaten to wipe out an entire civilization. We’re talking about [killing] civilians, just casually in a social media post.”

Kelly described herself as “the first to try to understand Trump” and give the president the benefit of the doubt.

The former Fox News host recalled that she personally learned to live with Trump’s fury “the hard way” when they clashed after a 2015 presidential debate. (Trump infamously accused Kelly of “having blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” after she asked him tough questions during a 2015 political forum. Kelly later campaigned for Trump’s reelection and endorsed him in the 2024 presidential election.)

“[That period] really helped me understand what he does with his social media,” Kelly said. “But this is completely irresponsible and disgusting. This is wrong. It’s wrong. He should not be doing it.”

The host dismissed some conservative leaders and commentators’ defense of Trump’s threats as a “negotiating tactic” with a hostile Iranian regime.

“A negotiation tactic is to kill an entire country full of civilians: men, women and children?” she asked. “An American president [making threats] so that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened. It’s just wrong. It’s not hard to say it. It’s not hard to recognize it. I wish he would stop doing this.”

Kelly went on, “Like, he can’t negotiate without doing this? What does that say about him? What does that say about the position that our country is in right now in these negotiations? He can’t be a dignified, strong leader without threatening a bunch of war crimes?”

Us Weekly has reached out to the White House for comment.

Further hostilities between the U.S. and Iran were at least temporarily averted when the Trump administration announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday.

“Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,” Trump announced via Truth Social on Tuesday.

An Iranian government spokesperson later told multiple media outlets that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened during the ceasefire so long as vessels coordinate with the regime.
