Vanderpump Villa gave an unexpected update into where Jen Affleck stands with MomTok — and where she is moving instead of New York for husband Zac Affleck.
During the Hulu show’s second season, which was released on Thursday, April 24, Jen and several of her Secret Lives of Mormon Wives costars visited Lisa Vanderpump‘s Castello Rosato in Italy for a “last hurrah.”
“Our guest of honor is Jen Affleck, who is a prominent member amongst these influencers,” Lisa explained to her staff. “Jen is reluctantly moving to Arizona with her husband so he can attend medical school.”
Jen arrived with Demi Engemann, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor and Mikayla Matthews — and none of them were excited about saying goodbye.
“Our friend is moving away,” Jessi told Marciano Brunette and some of his coworkers. Layla, meanwhile, jumped in to mention that they were “trying to convince her not to go.”
Jessi couldn’t figure out why Jen needed to go with Zac.
“It is for her husband’s medical school and he will never be around so who needs a husband?” Jessi quipped before Demi noted that a marriage should only last “five years” anyway. “That is when they expire. I am coming up on mine so we better be careful.”
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives viewers are quite familiar with Jen and Zac’s ups and downs. The couple started dating in 2018 and got married one year later. After welcoming kids Nora, 2, and Luca, 20 months, Jen and Zac, who are currently expecting baby No. 3, joined the cast of Hulu’s reality series about a group of Mormon mom influencers in Utah.
Season 1 showed Jen and Zac nearly calling it quits before admitting they were still a work in progress.
“Ever since we finished filming, we’ve been doing nonstop therapy and it’s been great,” Jen exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2024 after the series premiered. “So if anything, [watching the show] is just going to be exposure therapy at this point. We’ve healed and now we’re ready to talk about it once it comes out.”
After stepping back from MomTok, Jen and Zac documented their move from Utah to New York so Zac could attend medical school. It is unclear where Zac ultimately ended up enrolling but then-pregnant Jen later admitted that she wasn’t in a good place emotionally, ultimately checking into a wellness center.
“Spent 11 days away from my loved ones, focusing on healing and working through my trauma,” Jen wrote via her Instagram Story in March. “It was definitely one of the most challenging and impactful experiences I’ve ever had 🤍. Not the pregnancy journey I expected, but definitely what baby and I needed.”
Jen elaborated on the “moments of processing, learning, pain and healing” at the retreat, which included counseling sessions, yoga classes, spending time with horses and painting.
“It’s not every day you have the chance to be surrounded by professionals and mentors who dedicate their time to support you,” she continued. “I am truly grateful for everyone who made this possible.”
Vanderpump Villa is currently streaming on Hulu. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns to Hulu on Thursday, May 15.
