Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo are ready to bring the laughs instead of the drama to the small screen.
Netflix is developing a half-hour scripted comedy cowritten and headlined by the longtime best friends, Deadline reported on Tuesday, March 24.
Berrner, 34, confirmed the news when she posted the article via Instagram with the caption, “Good day to be a giggler.”
Set in New York City, the untitled project is set to feature Berner and DeSorbo, 33, as fictionalized versions of themselves who become the ultimate ride-or-die friends, helping each other shed their baggage and emerge as the people they’ve always wanted to be.
The project will be produced by Amy Poehler with Pitch Perfect and 30 Rock’s Kay Cannon serving as showrunner, Deadline reported.
Berner and DeSorbo met while working briefly for the same company in New York. They later joined season 3 of Bravo’s Summer House in 2019 and became even closer friends.
While Berner left the show after season 5 to kick off her stand-up career, DeSorbo stayed on the reality show until the end of season 9.
“I have a little life update for you: I’ve made the decision not to return to Summer House,” DeSorbo shared via her Instagram Stories in June 2025 when announcing her exit. “Being a part of this show has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life — the friendships, the drama, the giggles, all unforgettable. You’ve seen me grow up over these last seven summers. I’ll always be beyond grateful for the memories, the community and the opportunities this wild ride has brought me. But like all good things (and some bad decisions), it’s time for this chapter to close.”
Before celebrating the SAG’s 2026 Actor Awards in March, DeSorbo was asked if she still watches Summer House even if she’s not part of filming.
“I’m not, unfortunately. I’m doing a little detox,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in February. “I feel like I talked to them in real time. So I’m like, I don’t need to watch. I know what happens.”
Besides, DeSorbo has her hands full with a variety of projects.
In addition to the upcoming Netflix comedy, DeSorbo continues to cohost the “Giggly Squad” podcast with Berner. She also recently launched a ready-to-lounge line called Daphne.
“As certified bedtime professionals, we felt it was our duty to remind you how important your nighttime routine actually is,” DeSorbo wrote via Instagram while teaming up with Kourtney Kardashian. “This Sleep Awareness Month, @lemme and @daphne are coming together as the Bedtime Dream Team to celebrate the art of a perfect nighttime routine, because the best days begin the night before ☁️😉sweet dreams!”
