A woman suffering from debilitating perimenopause symptoms says her doctor agreed to prescribe hormone replacement therapy — only after her husband confirmed how bad things had gotten.

The woman said she spent years seeking help for a range of symptoms that were so severe they began to affect her marriage, but her doctors repeatedly dismissed them.

But when her husband joined her at a gynecological appointment and backed up her account, she said the response changed.
