A West Australian man has found himself behind bars after he allegedly made a drunk call to triple-zero claiming the Mandurah Police Station was going to blow up.

Luke James Henry, 47, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday charged with did act with intent of creating false belief of threat or danger knowing circumstances did not exist at the time of act.

The call sparked an emergency response from WA Police.WA Police

The court heard he was allegedly drunk on Friday morning when he made the triple-zero call, telling the operator they needed to send ambulances to the Pinjarra Road facility.

“It’s going to blow up,” he allegedly said. “I don’t want anyone to get killed”.

Henry allegedly claimed there were explosives placed outside the front of the building.

Magistrate Kelly Thompson said the phone call launched “a significant response” from first responders before Henry was later arrested at a Lakelands address.

The court heard he then told arresting officers that “it was just a bluff”, but prosecutors handed up a 160-page document outlining his previous criminal history that allegedly contained a pattern of prior similar offending.

“He makes calls to police when he’s intoxicated,” the court was told.

“And then makes threats to himself or others.”

Henry also has a history of making alleged threats to police officers, the court was told.

He blamed his alleged offending on PTSD, anxiety and depression, as well as issues with alcohol.

The 47-year-old applied for bail, but it was adjourned while a home detention report was provided to the court because he had also allegedly made threats towards his mother, who he lives with.

The court heard there was an ongoing investigation into those allegations.

He was remanded in custody and will be back before the court on August 31.
