Police have formed a strike force to investigate the death of a man found in a creek in the city’s north-west.
Officers were treating the case as a missing person’s report until 10am on Friday, when they were called to Torry Burn Reserve in Baulkham Hills.
There they found the missing man dead, face down in the water of a bushland creek.
His cause of death is not yet known but police are treating the death as suspicious.
Detective Acting Superintendent Michelle Mathieson, the local police commander, will speak to media at 2pm on Saturday.
NSW Police has formed Strike Force Lanrik to continue the investigation.
A cause of death has not yet been established as post-mortem tests will be needed to rule out whether the man died of misadventure, suicide, or was killed by other means.
