The purported ransom note in the disappearance of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy contained chilling details from the night she went missing, authorities said.
The note, sent to a local Arizona news station, contained details about the 84-year-old matriarch’s home in Tucson and what she was wearing on Saturday night when she disappeared, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told CBS News Tuesday evening.
It isn’t clear if the purported note sent to CBS affiliate in Arizona, which chose not to report the exact contents of it, is the same that was sent to TMZ Tuesday.
Nanos refused to say whether the details in the note matched the crime scene – where drops of blood and signs of forced entry were found.
Nanos said the note was shared with Savannah, who ditched her gig covering the Winter Olympics for NBC Sports as authorities scramble to search for her mother.
