An up-and-coming drill rapper was shot and killed in an ambush at a Chicago gas station — with shocking video showing the killers running up and firing dozens of shots into his Tesla.
Bloodhound Q50, who had more than a million monthly listeners on Spotify, was shot and killed early Sunday — just weeks after he ominously told a vlogger that he knew he could be a target.
Surveillance footage shows the 22-year-old rapper, real name Mikquale Cooper, strolling out of a BP gas station and into his white Tesla where his pregnant girlfriend was waiting, according to Fox 32.
A hooded gunman suddenly runs up and fires at the rapper’s car, shattering the driver’s side window, before another killer stood directly in front and pumps numerous more shots inside.
Others were later seen firing from a Honda car that had parked at one of the gas station’s pumps.
“I thought I heard over 100 [shots],” a shocked witness told the Chicago Sun-Times .
“I think the [police] markings stopped at 80 or something, but I feel like I heard way more than that.”
Before opening fire, one of the killers had warned the rapper’s girlfriend, “This is gonna be your man’s last night alive,” according to the Sun-Times.
The girlfriend told Bloodhound Q50 to “hurry up and pull off” when he got back in the Tesla as “dudes were walking around the car looking suspicious” while he was inside, according to a social media post obtained by Fox32.
“The car would not pull off because of the seat belt while he was trying to get the car in drive,” she claimed online, describing the rapper as her “homie,” “lover,” and “my unborn baby father.”
“As soon as.. [I] heard shots, I got out [as] fast as I could and ran screaming for help.”
No arrests have been made and the motive remains unknown, but some of the shooters allegedly bragged about the killing online by showing off their weapons, according to Fox32.
The guns looked similar to the weapons seen on surveillance video.
Bloodhound Q50 was killed just three years after his cousin, Bloodhound Zmoney, was shot dead.
A close pal, Bloodhound Lil Jeff, was killed age 21 after being shot in Chicago in June 2024, while another associate, Lil Scoom 89, was shot dead the following month.
The artist has also had his own run-ins with the law relating to firearms. He was sentenced to a year in prison in December 2024 after pleading guilty to a weapons charge.
A gun was found in his backpack as he was being treated for an injury following a September 2023 shooting.
He also admitted just weeks before his death that he knew the dangers he faced.
“I’m not chasing death but I’m not running from it either,” he told DJ Akademiks in a YouTube video about “surviving” his beefs and life in “Chiraq,” the derogatory nickname given to the crime-ridden Windy City.
“I know what I signed up for. One slip-up, you’re gone.”
