Police are searching for a grinning nut who swung a gardening tool at a straphanger during rush hour aboard a lower Manhattan subway train.
The unidentified brute whacked a 49-year-old man with the large gardening tool, striking him in the hand and legs, while aboard a northbound A/C train near Fulton Street and Nassau Street around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 9, according to the NYPD.
The straphanger suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
Images released by the department captured the green-thumbed attacker who later fled the scene smiling aboard the train while holding a large tool with a wooden handle.
