This margarita came with a twisssst.
A snake dropped out of the ceiling of a Mexican restaurant and landed in a woman’s margarita, leaving her rattled.
Carletta Andrews said she’d just finished dinner on April 16 with her husband at Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina in Sandston, Virginia, when she felt something hit her forehead, according to 8News.
“I looked at my husband like what was that,” Andrews explained, adding she’s “scarred” for life. “When I turned around, I saw the snake in my margarita.”
Andrews said the snake — a baby of indeterminate species — started curling itself around her drink’s straw.
“I kept saying please don’t let it go in my purse,” she said. “I left shaking, I was traumatized.” She has not said if she plans to sue
Restaurant workers rushed in to try to remove the snake with a stick. But another patron grabbed the snake and release it to the wild.
Andrews said the restaurant offered to move her to a booth, but she just wanted to go home
Andrews wants to know how this could’ve happened, and where the mama snake could be.
“If that was the baby — I fear… is the mom there?”
A spokesperson for Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina told 8News the snake may have gotten into the ceiling through an air conditioning unit.
The eatery was cited last December for a number of violations, including mold, broken handles, missing ceiling tiles, cracked floor tiles throughout the kitchen, and leaky ceiling tiles, but addressed each issue within six days.
