One child is dead and two other children and a woman remain in a critical condition, after a stabbing in the Blue Mountains.
Emergency services found three children and a woman suffering stab wounds inside a car on Waratah Road, Valley Heights, near Springwood, after receiving a report at 12.45pm on Sunday. One of the children was already dead.
The children are all believed to be under five years old. The younger children are being treated at Westmead Children’s Hospital and a woman in her 40s is being treated at Westmead Hospital.
Members of the public called Triple Zero and performed first aid on the children and women until ambulances arrived.
A crime scene has been established and police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
They have established a crime scene are encouraging anyone with dashcam or phone footage of the area around the time of the report to contact Springwood Police Station or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
