Two children dead, woman in custody in rural NSW town

Two primary school-aged children are dead and a woman is in custody in the small NSW town of Coonabarabran.

Officers were dispatched to the home in the Central West town just after 2pm on Monday following “a concern for welfare”, according to a statement from NSW Police.

The officers found two children, aged eight and 10 years old, dead at the scene.

A woman, aged 66, was taken into custody and driven to Coonabarabran police station.
