Two convicted killers were executed by lethal injection Thursday morning in Tennessee and Oklahoma, while Alabama prepared to carry out a third execution later in the day.
Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez was pronounced dead at 10:13 a.m. local time in McAlester, Oklahoma, for killing his girlfriend, Olimpia Fisher. About 30 minutes later, Anthony Darrell Hines was pronounced dead in Tennessee for the murder of motel maid Catherine Jean Jenkins.
Alabama was still expected to execute Jeremy Williams later Thursday for the rape and murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland.
