Valentine’s Day 2026: 3 zodiac will get lucky — and 2 are doomed to be disappointed

Valentine’s Day is upon us.

Whether you’re hitched, on Hinge, poly, curious or conscientiously abstaining, love is in the air. The heart-shaped holiday is thick in the collective ether, and some seriously offbeat energy cometh from the cosmos.

“With the sun and Mars currently buzzing through Aquarius, the vibe for the lovers’ long weekend is high-octane and social,” astrologer Babs Cheung, aka The Astro Translator, told The Post.

“It’s a great weekend for a group hang, but if you were hoping for an intimate, 1:1 door-locking session, the more likely scenario is your group chats blowing up rather than your partner blowing something else.”

Cheung notes that Mercury, our planet of the mind and the mouth, is officially in its pre-shadow phase, suggesting that any sweet nothings uttered over the weekend will be revisited when Mercury goes retrograde on Feb. 26.

“You heard it here first, lovers and fighters alike: Collect your receipts now. If they promise you a trip to Paris on Valentine’s Day, make sure you have the screenshot to enter as evidence in the fight you’re going to have in two weeks,” said Cheung.

To add a bit more pepper to the proverbial pot, eclipse season and the Lunar New Year are on the horizon, coming in hot on the heels of the weekend.

“The Year of the Fire Horse (not to be confused with ‘fire whores’ though that could be apt) kicks off Feb. 17, which shifts the energy from shedding (Year of the Wood Snake) to a full-blown stallion stampede.”

Who’s riding the winds of change and who will be trampled under the hooves of their high hopes this Valentine’s Day? Read on to learn more.

“With Venus in Pisces drifting through your 8th house of sex and merging, your Valentine’s Day is looking intense in the best way, Leo. The eighth house is usually where the heavy stuff, like death and transformation, exists, but sweet Venus is softening the gothic edges,” promises Cheung.

“Expect a weekend where colliding souls is requisite. You’re trading your usual spotlight for the shadow of the taboo, just make sure you stay hydrated and have a safe word.”

Yee-haw!

Cheung shared that team Virgo may find themselves more swayed by schmaltz than usual.

“You’re usually the one checking the fine print, but Venus in your seventh house of partnerships is forcing you to lean into the big picture. Ditch your readers and let the romance be a little messy and blurry,” advised Cheung.

“Whether you’re single or coupled, the ‘other’ in your life is bringing a level of sweetness that even your inner critic and perfectionist can’t find fault with. Enjoy the dream while it lasts, but keep the receipt for the flowers, just in case.”

Cheung notes that for Scorpio folk, Venus is pinballing through their fifth house of play and pleasure.

“For scorpions, this Valentine’s Day isn’t about the usual deep soul-bonding; it’s about the thrill of the chase and the trap,” said Cheung.

“You have the intense energy that everyone else is trying to emulate. Single and looking for a hot date? You’re just one packed dance club away from finding your weekend’s flirty fixation.”

Cheung imparts that for Aries folk, the planet of love is taking a spin through their not-so-sunny 12th house of trauma, endings and hidden enemies.

“With Venus transiting this murky area, Valentine’s Day might feel more like a haunting than a holiday. Old exes (and old patterns) are lurking, and it might begin with them innocently liking your stories again. Clock that behavior and expect a full comeback in two weeks,” said Cheung.

“If you’re smart, instead of a romantic night out, consider facing your demons and dust. Don’t force the fun; stay in and do the house-cleaning; it doubles as preparation for the Lunar New Year, too!”

Cheung nominates Libra as the sign most likely to be a wet blanket this weekend.

“Even though you’re the sign of partnership, this year the stars are putting you in the sixth house of drudgery and mundane chores. Don’t be surprised if this weekend you feel less than cute and that your usual love-on-the-brain mood finds the ‘ick’ in the Valentine’s industrial complex,” shared Cheung.

“You’re more likely to be running errands or arguing about whose turn it is to do the dishes than being showered with gifts. If you’re not currently entertaining romance, the weekend’s energy will make you want to mute every couple on your feed.”
