11 California class-action settlements with payouts up to ,000 that you can claim now

Californians could have serious cash owed to them as a wave of class action settlements open up claims tied to data breaches, everyday purchases and even dating apps.

Some payouts are relatively small, but others pay out in the thousands. With deadlines approaching over the next few months, eligible Golden State residents will want to act quickly.

Here’s a breakdown of 11 settlements you can claim right now.

Data Breach payouts could top $3,500 — or more

Comcast Xfinity customers could claim up to $10,000 after a 2023 data breach, though most will receive about $50 without documentation. The deadline to file is Aug. 14, 2026.

Borrowers affected by a 2021 breach tied to Lakeview Loan Servicing may be eligible for up to $5,000, with additional benefits available to California residents under state privacy laws. Claims are due by June 22, 2026.

Krispy Kreme customers could receive up to $3,500 if they were notified of a 2024 data breach, or $75 without proof, along with one year of free credit monitoring. The filing deadline is June 22, 2026.

Everyday purchases that come with a payout — including Trader Joe’s

Shoppers who bought beef between 2014 and 2019 may qualify for a cut of an $87.5 million settlement resolving claims that Tyson and Cargill fixed prices. No receipt is required. Claims must be filed by June 30, 2026.

Trader Joe’s customers could receive about $100 if they paid by credit or debit card between March and July 2019, after a lawsuit alleged the company printed too many digits on receipts. The deadline is June 9, 2026.

Buyers of certain Sealy bedding products may be eligible for $5 to $40 over claims the company misrepresented thread counts. Claims are due May 12, 2026.

Apps and gig work settlements

California Tinder users could be in line for payouts from a $60.5 million settlement over claims the app charged higher subscription prices based on age. Eligible users should have received notice. The deadline to file is Aug. 18, 2026.

Grubhub drivers in California may qualify for compensation if they completed at least one delivery between January 2019 and January 2026, with payments varying based on work history. Claims are due May 12, 2026.

Homebuyers and drivers also included

Homebuyers could qualify for compensation from a $28.5 million settlement involver Keller Williams and RE/MAX, which alleged commission structures inflated purchase costs. Claims are due Aug. 25, 2026.

Certain Hyundai and Kia drivers may be eligible for payments under a $62.1 million settlement tied to alleged airbag defects, including reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. The deadline to file is April 8, 2027.

Wildfire victims can still claim

Southern California Edison is facing lawsuits alleging its equipment sparked several of the January 2025 Los Angeles County wildfires, while also offering a separate compensation program for Eaton Fire victims.

The program provides a more streamlined path for claims including total or partial property loss, business interruption, physical injury, loss of life and damage from smoke, soot or ash — with some homeowners eligible for payouts of roughly $550 to $750 per square foot.
