14-year-old killed, another teen critical after Williamsburg Bridge subway surfing stunt

A 14-year-old boy is dead and an 18-year-old is fighting for his life after a subway surfing stunt turned tragic on the Williamsburg Bridge Friday evening.

The thrill-seeking duo was discovered unconscious on the J/M line tracks around 6:50 p.m., according to police.

The younger teen died as a result of injuries consistent with a fall.

The older surfer was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

NYC Transit president Demetrius Crichlow said in a statement that the incident “is heartbreaking and knowing that riding outside trains is going to end tragically, it’s incomprehensible — and pains me as a parent — that it continues to happen.”

“I’m imploring families, friends, teachers, and others coming into contact with teens engaging in these suicidal stunts to get them to stop,” the statement continued.

The Williamsburg Bridge is known as dangerous among subway surfers.

Last October, a 12-year-old Brooklyn girl was killed in a subway surfing accident — reminiscent of Friday’s events.

Zemfira Mukhtarov frequently posted her death-defying adventures on TikTok, and was reportedly obsessed with thrill-seeking.

She was found dead on the Williamsburg Bridge.

“I always working, and I don’t know what she’s doing, what time she’s doing,” her grieving mom Nataliya Rudenko, of Ukraine, told The Post.

“One time I see she is on the top of the Williamsburg Bridge, [pretending to] hold our city on her hand.”
