A man has been charged alongside a 15-year-old boy over the alleged kidnapping and imprisonment of a girl who was forced into a car as she walked into school last week.

The 17-year-old girl was walking to Keysborough Secondary College about 8.30am last Friday when a vehicle pulled up alongside her.

A 15-year-old Wyndham boy approached her, then forced her into the car, police said, before she was driven across Melbourne to a home in Melbourne’s outer west.

Special operations group officers were called to the home, and arrested the teenage boy four hours later.

He faced court later that evening, and did not apply for bail.

Police on Wednesday morning arrested a second person, 18-year-old Tarneit man Ayom Deng, and charged him with abduction, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said the 18-year-old is alleged to have been “driving the vehicle at the time of the incident”.

Appearing briefly in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon, Deng made no application for bail and was remanded in custody to face court again in September.

His lawyer told the court Deng would be considered vulnerable in custody due to his age and appearance, and that he had a diagnosis of PTSD.
