‘A literal witch hunt’: Etsy sellers paid to curse evil exes claim they’re being persecuted by the online marketplace

Toil and trouble is brewing on Etsy.

Etsy witches are allegedly being kicked out of the online marketplace — over a decade after their services were officially banned by platform moderators.

Consumers with a grudge have gone viral on social media by praising the services offered by online occultists, who peddle their spellcasting services on the platform. Their offerings include clairvoyant readings; spells for love, protection, lucky and money; manifesting services, such as good weather for a wedding; as well as soulmate drawings and even curses.

Despite their popuarity, Etsy has explicity prohibited the sale of spells, enchantments and other supernatural services, going all the way back to 2015.

Now, former Etsy witches are screeching over finally getting swept off the site.

Beatrix, who sells under Celestial Craft Spells, was one of many who were “unfairly banned,” finding the removal “incredibly upsetting.”

“On Etsy, witches had a place where we could complete our work without discrimination,” she told The Post, noting that Etsy even helped them find potential clients through their ads.

“Suddenly, and quietly, they have removed us with no real explanations, whether it’s an immediate ban or slowly taking down our listings,” Beatrix, 62, said. “For some of us, this was our livelihood.”

“It feels like persecution and like we are regressing back to the Salem witch trials.”

She now has her own site and is growing her social media presence, and she applied to sell on a new platform called Witchly — like an Etsy just for witches.

“Customers will still seek spiritual work whether it’s Etsy or not, but they are less protected now,” she explained.

She also said Etsy gave her clients, some waiting on orders to be filed, no notice of the crackdown, leaving some to assume they were being ignored or scammed.

“Terrible for their health and feelings. It is an all round a terrible situation, very vexing and upsetting,” she said.

In a video on TikTok that has amassed 1.2 million views, witchcraft customer Carol Jay shared that when she went to go to her usual Etsy witch’s page online, the shop was closed.

“I was very alarmed. I couldn’t message her or anything like that” she recalled.

Jay was eventually able to reach her witch. “Etsy is standing by its policy and removing all spell casters,” they responded.

Etsy declined The Post’s request for comment.

Witches with the wherewithhal have begun migrating their services to other platforms, or their own websitses, but their former Etsy clients say they’ve been left bewildered by the loss.

“Website Witch just doesn’t hit the same!” Jay, who did not respond to The Post’s request for comment, lamented in her video.

“I will still be calling my Etsy witch my Etsy witch. I don’t care. Justice for the Etsy witch. Etsy, you need to bring the Etsy witches back.”

Jay’s viewers also cried out in the comments with grief, calling it “literal witch hunt.”

“Etsy about to get cursed,” warned another.
