Bondi Beach terror attack hero Ahmed al Ahmed has been accused of assaulting and intimidating his father months after an alleged incident at a home in Sydney’s south-west.

Ahmed was issued a court attendance notice on Wednesday for domestic violence-related offences of common assault and stalk or intimidate intending fear of physical harm.

The charge came months after the alleged assault at a Bankstown home on March 9, which police say was reported almost a week later. Ahmed is due to appear before Bankstown Local Court on July 29.

It comes after his brothers Hozifa al Ahmed, 35, and Sameh al Ahmed, 33, appeared at the same court in May, charged with verbally threatening their 44-year-old brother.

They were arrested at Bankstown Police Station on May 11, days after a phone call in which the alleged threats were made.

Hozifa and Sameh both entered pleas of not guilty. An interim domestic violence protection order was placed on the pair, prohibiting them from going within 100 metres of their brother or any place he lives or works.

Both men are due to return to Bankstown Local Court on July 8.

Footage of Ahmed ambushing and wresting a long-arm rifle from Sajid Akram, the 50-year-old gunman killed by police in Bondi on December 14, went viral in the hours after the attack, thrusting the Sutherland Shire store owner into the international spotlight.

The extraordinary act of bravery, which forced Akram back towards the footbridge where the assault began, is credited with saving more than 30 people under siege at the Hanukkah event.

Ahmed al Ahmed was hospitalised with gunshot wounds after he heroically ambushed one of the assailants.

A GoFundMe page established to support Ahmed, who was hospitalised with gunshot wounds, raised more than $2.6 million in donations from almost 50,000 people, including American billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, Hollywood comedian Amy Schumer, and Charlton Howard, the given name of Australian musician Kid Laroi.

Ahmed was awarded a novelty cheque from his St George hospital bed five days after the terror attack. He later travelled to the United States to seek specialist support for injuries to his arm.
