Brandon “Bug” Hall, the actor best known for playing Alfalfa in the 1994 film The Little Rascals, was arrested in Ohio after failing to appear in court, according to multiple reports.
Hall, 41, missed a December 31, 2024, court date tied to an October 29, 2024, traffic citation for driving without liability insurance. He was charged with failure to appear. TMZ was first to report the news on April 13.
Hall is no longer in custody, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, per People.
Bug Hall Was Previously Arrested in 2020
The Ohio arrest comes six years after Hall’s last run-in with law enforcement.
In June 2020, Hall was arrested in Weatherford, Texas, while visiting his parents. A family member called 911 and asked them to check in on Hall, according to TMZ. Police found him in his hotel room surrounded by air duster cans.
He was booked on a misdemeanor possession charge for use/inhalation of a volatile chemical.
Hall told the Daily Mail in January he ultimately faced no charges from that incident. He cited the 2020 arrest as the reason he left the entertainment industry.

Born Brandon Rowan, Hall made his screen debut as the lovable, hair-slicking Alfalfa in the beloved 1994 remake of The Little Rascals. The role made him one of the most recognizable child actors of the decade.
His career continued with roles in films including The Big Green, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, Hercules, Skipped Parts, The Stupids and Get a Clue. On television, he appeared in Kelly Kelly, Charmed, Cold Case, CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds.
His most recent film credits include This Is The Year (2020) and Cabrini (2024).
Bug Hall’s Life Has Taken a Wild Turn Since 2020
Hall has been married to Jill DeGroff since 2017. Together they have five children — four daughters and one son. In the years since stepping away from Hollywood, Hall and his family have undergone a dramatic personal transformation.
He now identifies as a “radical Catholic extremist” and is “raising extremists,” referring to his kids. He discussed his evolving faith in an April 2025 YouTube video titled “Into the Unknown.” Hall said his acting career was no longer “congruous” with his faith, prompting his exit from the industry.
His kids are homeschooled, and Hall has said he and his wife plan to “strongly discourage” them from attending traditional school or college. He further described formal school as “nonsense,” per the Daily Mail.
The family relocated to an 80-acre property near Mountain View, Arkansas, after living in Texas, Michigan and Ohio.
In his January interview with the Daily Mail, Hall said he has taken “a vow of poverty.” He donated most of his possessions and all of his savings to live without needing an income.
The family has been living in a campervan equipped with a water well and a generator. He hopes to build a home with its own hydro-electric dam, plumbing and electrical systems.
