Bridesmaid’s cheeky wedding dance goes viral after warbrode malfunction

An Australian bridesmaid has accidentally gone viral after a risky dance move left her with a “wild” wardrobe malfunction mid-routine.

Georgie Ball, a 28-year-old physiotherapist from Newcastle, was celebrating her best friend Ellie’s wedding in Mudgee when the reception entrance took a cheeky turn.

In a video that now has more than 8.4 million views, Georgie and her groomsman partner – who happened to be her own brother – attempted a coordinated dance routine that ended with the entire back seam of her floor-length gown splitting open.

How it unfolded

The chaos didn’t start at the reception. According to Georgie, the dress was “predisposed” to disaster hours earlier.

“We were having a few drinks pre-ceremony and thought, ‘Let’s do a cartwheel and go into a worm,’” Georgie told news.com.au.

She felt a rip immediately while practising on the deck, but with the wedding about to start, friends reassured her it was only a small tear and “no different to the other girls” who had wardrobe issues that day as well.

However, by the time the bridal party lined up for their grand entrance, the 30cm rip was already a ticking time bomb.

‘The show goes on’

Despite the dress already being compromised, Georgie – who admits she isn’t one to shy away from the spotlight – decided to commit to the bit.

“I told my brother I couldn’t do the cartwheel because it would break the dress, but I’d do the worm instead,” she said.

The footage shows Georgie dropping to the floor to perform the “backwards worm” just as the beat drops, only for the dress to split even further, exposing her bare bum (she insists she was wearing a nude G-string).

“I felt it go as soon as I hinged forward a couple of centimetres, but I thought, ‘Well, I’m in it now – the show goes on,’” she laughed.

The malfunction was made worse by her shoes, with the video capturing the moment her heels also broke mid-worm, leaving her struggling to stand back up as the room burst into laughter.

A safety pin rescue

After the entrance, the wedding celebrant, Jamie, tried to help Georgie rescue her dress, which was held together with nearly 20 safety pins.

“I walked back in to everyone clapping and hooraying, but as soon as I went to sit down for dinner, I felt the safety pins split open again,” Georgie said.

The situation became so dire that the bride’s mother eventually handed over a shawl to tie around Georgie’s waist.

Naturally, the shawl didn’t stop Georgie from hitting the dance floor, where she promptly performed another worm and danced the night away.

Millions of views

The footage was captured by wedding content creator Paulina from By Your Side Socials, who admitted her “jaw hit the floor” when she saw the rip happen in real time.

“You can hear the shock on the reel, then the laughter kicks in,” Paulina told news.com.au, adding that she waited to post the “gold mine” footage until she had permission from both the bride and Georgie.

Many users on TikTok were left reeling by the sheer “embarrassment” they said they would feel if it happened to them.

One user admitted the moment would “haunt me every time I shut my eyes to go to sleep for the rest of my life,” while another wrote that it would “keep me up at night until I died.”

Others were more impressed, noting “the confidence she must have felt” to keep going.

Georgie, however, is taking the viral fame in her stride – including the many comments praising her physique.

“I’ve been working out for eight or nine years flat chat, so I’ll cop the compliments about my bum,” she said.

“It’s one of my greatest assets, second to my big, beautiful brain.”

No regrets for the Aussie

Despite the “oldies” at the wedding – including the bride’s grandfather, who was sitting in the front row – getting an unexpected eyeful, Georgie says there was no “head noise” or embarrassment the next morning.

She also wanted to shut down the critics who believed they could see “flaps.”

“There were no vagina flashing, just cheeks,” she jokes.

“I’m a physio, I see a lot of bodies, so I don’t really mind – everyone is the same,” she added.

The dress is currently at the dry cleaners, still ripped and unfixed, as a memento of what Georgie describes as the “most memorable” wedding she’s ever been to.

As for her next appearance as a bridesmaid at her brother’s wedding this October, she’s already planning something bigger.

“I might do a front flip … but I probably won’t have a back seam on that dress.”
