A fire has torn through a two-story Queenslander home in Brisbane’s south, hospitalising one and putting a nearby church at risk.
The property on Cork Street in Yeronga went up in flames just after midday on Saturday.
Fire services were called to the blaze, arriving about 12.20pm.

It took about 40 minutes to extinguish, leaving the home almost completely destroyed.
Large amounts of smoke was reportedly visible more than five kilometres away.
One person with burns to their legs was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Two others were treated by paramedics at the scene.
A handful of fire crews and paramedics were still at the property two hours after the fire began.

“They’ll be dampening it down for another hour of so to get any residual heat out of the ground,” a spokesperson for the Queensland Fire Department said just after 2pm.
They added the nearby Anglican Parish of Yeronga had been at serious risk of damage, but crews managed to contain the fire.
